Ohlone Wilderness Trail: 16 trail camps along 28-mile Ohlone Wilderness Trail (Del Valle, located south of Livermore) through the Sunol Regional Wilderness to Mission Peak Regional Preserve near Fremont. Reserve at (888) 327-2757, option 2. Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve (south of Pittsburg): Stewartvil­le backpack site, reserve at (888) 327-2757, option 2. Coe State Park (Gilroy): 81 trail camps, 29 in the more accessible Western Zone, firstcome, first-served with wilderness permit required; for access to Orestimba Wilderness and Rooster Comb, use Dowdy Ranch Entrance out of Bell Station on Highway 152, open weekends starting Saturday.
