NFL:
Police say former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was attacked during a run-in with a facility-service employee at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Tuesday.
An Atlanta police spokesman said Jones, an NFL free agent, confronted the airport employee after the employee made a gesture toward Jones. Police say words were exchanged before the employee struck Jones with a closed fist, causing a cut to Jones’ face.
Cell-phone video footage shows that Jones and the airport employee traded several punches. The airport employee was arrested on two counts of battery and taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries. Jones was not charged.
The New York Giants spent a 2019 thirdround draft pick on Western Michigan cornerback Sam Beal, and Washington selected Virginia Tech cornerback Adonis Alexander in the sixth round of the supplemental draft. New York loses its third-round pick in April’s draft. Washington will give up a sixth-rounder.
