“This one’s completely on me,” said Red Sox starter Rick Porcello, who allowed eight runs in two innings. “We’re playing great baseball right now. Just had a 10-game winning streak. Not going to let one game ruin that.”

Dwight Smith Jr. also homered for Toronto, which won for the second time in six games. Jake Petricka pitched two innings of shutout ball in relief of Ryan Borucki, who lasted just three-plus innings but left with an 8-6 lead.

Closer Cody Allen gave up Giancarlo Stanton’s leadoff homer but ultimately got his 19th save.
