Woman’s body found — boyfriend is arrested
A 19-year-old man led investigators to a body near Lake Chabot Dam early Monday and was arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend, police said.
Police said they believe the body is that of Mariah Davis, an 18-year-old Richmond woman who was last seen on Wednesday. Her boyfriend, Anthony Pimentel, visited San Leandro police with his father around 3:30 a.m. Monday and told investigators he had killed Davis, according to East Bay Regional Park District Police Lt. David Phulps.

Pimentel led San Leandro police to a body in the area of Lake Chabot on property belonging to the East Bay Municipal Utilities District, and the investigation was turned over to East Bay Regional Park District police, authorities said. Phulps noted that although park police are investigating Pimentel for Davis’ slaying, a coroner has not officially identified the body.
Pimentel was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of first-degree murder. He is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin and is not eligible for bail, according to jail records. His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday.
