Rewarded loyalty

San Francisco Chronicle Late Edition - - FROM THE COVER -

It’s not surprising to read “Whites gain most from Trump’s tax cuts, study says” (Business, Oct. 12). The Trump administration’s tax cut legislation has basically rewarded his biggest group of supporters, Caucasians. Meanwhile, it has provided less gains to Latinos and African Americans, who gave the 45th president around 30 percent and 10 percent of their respective votes in 2016. Trump values loyalty above everything else, and — like the boss of a crime syndicate rather than as a president of all Americans — rewards and punishes others by the degree of their obeisance to him.
