Story lines: A repeat of last Saturday’s fine passing game in the loss to Washington State might be difficult for Stanford depending on the weather conditions. The Cardinal need an upset to become bowl eligible. UW hopes to avoid its third loss in four games.

Injuries: Stanford — LB Joey Alfieri (undisclosed), S Ben Edwards (und.), G Foster Sarell (leg) and RB Trevor Speights (und.) are out. RB Bryce Love (ankle) and G Nate Herbig (und.) are questionable. WR Connor Wedington (und.) is probable. Washington — WR Chico McClatcher (personal) and DL Shane Bowman (foot) are out. RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder), RB Salvon Ahmed (und.), LB DJ Beavers (und.) and TE Hunter Bryant (knee) are questionable. OL Trey Adams (back) is doubtful. OL Jared Hilbers (und.) is probable.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

1 Stanford’s pass rush has been limited basically to the edge rushers, and they will have outside linebacker Curtis Robinson for the first time this year. “Internally, we haven’t had the pass rush that we needed,” head coach David Shaw said.

1 Cardinal cornerback Alijah Holder, targeted often last Saturday by Washington State, is operating at 80-90 percent because of a longstanding injury, Shaw said. “The last thing to come back is that explosive burst,” he said. “He doesn’t quite have it yet.”

1 Stanford has won 10 of the past 13 over Washington.
