Ex-NFL cornerback Browner gets 8-year prison sentence
Prosecutors say former NFL cornerback Brandon Browner has been sentenced to eight years in prison for trying to kill his ex-girlfriend after breaking into her Southern California home. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office says Browner was sentenced Tuesday after pleading no contest to attempted murder as part of a deal with prosecutors. Browner won Super Bowls with the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
Golf: The PGA of America is leaving Florida for a $520 million development in the Dallas area that will include a 500-room hotel, a massive conference center and two golf courses that will bring major championships back to Texas.
The decision followed approval of an incentives package by the Frisco City Council and other government entities. The move is not expected until the summer of 2022, about the time the two courses are to be finished. The first tournament will be the Senior PGA Championship in 2023.
