Audacious goals for Newsom

-

Concerning “A politician to take literally, liberally” (John Diaz, Last Word, Jan. 16): Our new governor might be guilty of a repeated linguistic offense when he misuses the word “literally.” However, one word that Gov. Gavin Newsom has frequently used correctly is “audacious.” Newsom repeatedly described himself as having “audacious goals” for California while campaigning for governor and during his inaugural address. He even said, a bit humorously, that he was a fan of “big hairy audacious goals.” Our state needs bold leadership at this time, which Newsom has engagingly expressed in a literally correct manner.
