Woods will start ’19 at Torrey Pines
Tiger Woods is starting another year at Torrey Pines, with higher expectations.
Woods announced Wednesday he will play in the Farmers Insurance Open next week. He has won the tournament seven times, and Torrey Pines is where he won the U.S. Open in 2008.
Woods tied for 23rd a year
ago when no one was sure what to expect from him. He was coming off a fourth back surgery. This will be his first PGA Tour event since he won the Tour Championship in September.

Broadcasting: NBC Sports says Bob Costas is leaving his longtime broadcast home. Costas’ departure comes two years after he stepped down as NBC’s prime-time Olympics host. NBC Sports provided no further details Wednesday. A representative for Costas, 66, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Costas was emcee for NBC’s Olympics 11 times starting in 1992. In early 2017, he stepped aside for Mike Tirico, formerly with ESPN. Tommy John surgery. He made the last of his 215 major-league appearances with the Rangers on July 27, 2016.
