Stanford coach put on leave
Shannon Turley, Stanford football’s director of sports performance for the past 12 years, was placed on administrative leave, a school spokesman said. He gave no explanation.
Many Cardinal players have praised Turley’s work as the strength and conditioning coach. He also oversees the sports performance program for the other 36 varsity teams.
Turley spent a year at the University of San Diego as director of athletic performance for the school’s 16 programs before former head coach Jim Harbaugh, who had been at USD, brought him to Stanford in ’07. — Tom FitzGerald
