Questions around Cow Palace

-

Regarding “Cow Palace gun shows, facility itself targeted” (Bay Area, Feb. 14): I’m getting tired of the knee-jerk reaction to convert any and every piece of land for housing. Before the Cow Palace is handed over to a developer for housing, couldn’t state and local lawmakers solicit ideas for other uses?

Could part of the space be used for small industrial purposes? Or for indoor sports? For artists?

Could part of the parking area be used for people living in their RVs? Could a test community of tiny houses be built? And in support of leaving it alone, wouldn’t it be nice to have such a huge space available when the big one (earthquake) finally hits?
