Woman suspected of DUI on probation

A Petaluma woman on probation for driving under the influence was arrested Saturday after she rear-ended a vehicle, authorities said.

Officers responded at 11:05 a.m. to the 700 block of East Washington Street after a report of a crash. Pamela Long, 63, allegedly hit a car and tried to walk away from the scene, according to a Petaluma police news release.

Witnesses told police they smelled alcohol on her and confiscated her keys after she tried to flee.

The crash caused moderate damage to both vehicles involved and hurt a minor in the vehicle Long rearended, police said.

Her blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit of 0.08% after the crash, authorities said. Officials booked Long into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury and violating her probation.
