Giants beat:

- By Henry Schulman

Three top prospects headed from San Jose to Double-A.

Three of the Giants’ bestknown prospects are moving up in the system.

Outfielder Heliot Ramos, catcher Joey Bart and righthanded starter Sean Hjelle all were promoted Thursday from Class A San Jose to DoubleA. They will spend the final few weeks of the minorleague season getting their feet wet in Richmond, Va., starting Friday.

“Everybody’s growth is a little different. It matched up good that all of them were ready to be promoted at the same time,” Giants farm director Kyle Haines said while recording a “Giants Splash” podcast Thursday morning.

“They’ve weathered some ups and downs, both of them, all three of them. It got to the point where we said, ‘OK, now it’s a good time.’ ”

Ramos and Bart were the Giants’ firstround draft picks in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Bart was selected with the second overall pick. Each missed several weeks this season with injuries. Bart’s hand was broken by a pitch and Ramos sustained a knee injury.

“I think sometimes when you look back, you forget that Bart’s probably played in less than 60 games in HighA and even fullseason ball total. With the injuries, that set them back about a month. It would have been great to get them there in July.”

Haines said Bart and Ramos also are being considered for the Arizona Fall League. Their work there could factor into a decision on where they will start the 2020 season. Haines said they have an outside shot of opening at TripleA, but Richmond is far more likely.

Ramos hit .306 with an .885 OPS and 13 homers in 294 atbats for San Jose. Bart hit 12 homers to go with a .265 average and .793 OPS.

Hjelle, who’s 6foot11, was the Giants’ secondround pick last year. He had a 2.78 ERA with 74 strikeouts in 772⁄3 innings at San Jose after his promotion from lowA Augusta, Ga.

The hole in San Jose’s rotation created by Hjelle’s departure will not be filled by the hottest pitcher in the system, Augusta lefthander Seth Corry, who recorded his fourth straight scoreless outing Sunday. The 20yearold held Hickory, N.C., to two hits over seven innings in that game.

Haines said the organization wants Corry to continue developing a changeup at the lower level before he is promoted. Duggar update: After an MRI exam, Giants outfielder Steven Duggar was diagnosed with a sprain of the AC joint, which landed him on the 10day injured list and will prevent him from playing considerably longer.

“He’s going to be down for a little while,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “It’s pretty close to what we thought it was. I can’t tell you how long he’ll be out. It will be a while.”

Duggar was hurt Wednesday when he made a soaring catch to rob Washington’s Juan Soto and save three runs. Duggar landed hard on the shoulder and immediately left the game.

The Giants replaced Duggar on the 25man roster by recalling outfielder Joey Rickard from TripleA Sacramento. Rickard is an Orioles castoff who batted .358 with a .974 OPS — including a healthy onbase percentage of .406 — in 165 plate appearances for the River Cats after the Giants claimed him in June. Roster moves: As expected, the Giants placed righthander Shaun Anderson on the IL with a blister on his pitching hand and recalled lefty reliever Sam Selman from Sacramento. Selman was optioned Tuesday so the Giants could add starter Conner Menez. Henry Schulman is a San Francisco Chronicle staff writer.
