Hiero Day weekend
For years, hip-hop lovers have celebrated Labor Day with the daylong music festival known as Hiero Day. This year, the East Bay event — created by the Hieroglyphics, Oakland’s hip-hop collective — plans to celebrate the Bay Area’s hip-hop music and culture over four days with live music, food and drink, and art exhibits. The weekend lineup includes performances from Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad’s Midnight Tour, Mereba, Nappy Nina and more at various venues in Oakland.

Kings Mountain Art Fair
It’s free to attend the annual art fair in a redwood forest. The fair includes meals prepared by an all-volunteer staff, a kids zone, and a wide selection of fine arts and crafts.

Sausalito Art Festival
A threeday festival features works by more than 250 artists as well as live music, gourmet food and drink, children’s activities and more. Main-stage performers scheduled for the event include Blood, Sweat & Tears, Blues Traveler, and an evening of tribute bands.

Golden Gate Park Band Labor Day Celebration
The band that has called Golden Gate Park home for more than 100 years celebrates Labor Day with free concerts open to the public.

17th Annual Cowgirl Palooza
