Fun facts from a funfilled weekend in Seattle (warning: some of the following facts may not be fully verified):

» Watching the first four rounds of the NFL draft is a waste of time. The two biggest plays in the NFL this season were turned in by the 49ers’ George Kittle (fifth round, No. 146 overall in 2017) and Dre Greenlaw (fifth round, No. 148 in 2019).

» Combined 2019 base salary for Kittle and Greenlaw: $1,140,000.

» The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, is reserving a display case for Andy Reid’s mustache.

» Also for Kyle Shanahan’s lucky gasstation ball cap.

» Russell Wilson’s greatest scramble this year came after Sunday’s game, as he tried to explain the Seahawks’ delay-of-game penalty.

» While there has been no satisfactory explanation given for the Seahawks’ game-wrecking delay of game, scientists have found that mental processes — specifically, quick thinking — may be impaired by overly vigorous chewing of gum.

» There has never been a satisfactory or illuminating answer by an athlete to any question starting with, “Has it sunk in yet?”

» NFL referees and their supervisors have no earthly clue what PI is. Some of them believe it is a guy named Magnum.

» The Seahawks wanted to draft George Kittle in 2017 in the fifth round, but Seattle general manager John Schneider was unable to trade up to make that pick. D’oh!

» In airport security lines, when they pair you off and have you walk past the bombsniffing dog, you are not legally married. Unless the dog is an ordained minister.

» As exciting as the 49ers-Seahawks game was, a national data search shows that during that threehour time frame, no barns were burned down.

» When a winning coach says, “We’re going to enjoy this win for 24 hours, then get back to work,” he means 24 minutes.

» My sportswriter friend Shaun Powell (NBA.com) is the first media person to dare to ask, “Why do college and NFL players require someone to squirt the water bottle for them?”

» Followup question: How do the bottleholders know when to stop?
