Ducks defeat Buffs; two tied atop Pac12

Will Richardson scored 21 points, including 17 in the second half, and No. 17 Oregon came from behind for a 6860 home victory over 16thranked Colorado on Thursday night.

The Ducks (196, 84 Pac12) trailed by 12 points early in the second half but went on a 100 run in the waning minutes to overtake the Buffaloes (196, 84). The two teams are tied for the league lead.

Richardson also had nine rebounds. Payton Pritchard added 15 points for the Ducks.

Evan Battey and D’Shawn Schwartz had 14 points apiece for Colorado.

The Buffaloes went on a 200 run to build a 3016 lead. The Ducks missed 11 consecutiv­e fieldgoal attempts and were called for two charges during the Colorado spree.

Colorado led 3526 at halftime, shooting 48% (14for29) from the field after a cold start. The Ducks shot 32% in the opening half (10for31).

“It didn’t look good there for a while,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said. “But the guys continued to grind it out and find a way.”

Oregon State 70, Utah 51: Kylor Kelley scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the host Beavers (159, 57 Pac12), who have won backtoback conference games for the first time this season.

Branden Carlson scored 13 points for the Utes (1410, 57).

USC 62, Washington 56: Nick Rakocevic scored 19 points, Jonah Mathews added 16 and the host Trojans (187, 75 Pac12) rallied to snap a threegame losing streak.

USC trailed 3025 at halftime and was down 4235 midway through the second half before going on a 164 run to take control. Mathews scored eight points during the run and Rakocevic added four.

Jaden McDaniels led the Huskies (1213, 210) with 19 points and 12 rebounds. UCLA 86, Washington State 83: Cody Riley scored 11 of his 19 points in overtime to the host Bruins (1411, 75 Pac12) past the Cougars (1411, 57).

Isaac Bonton scored 23 points to lead Washington State, but suffered what appeared to be a leg injury and hobbled off the court with the help of teammates with 1:06 left in the game. . Indiana 89, #21 Iowa 77: Devonte Green scored 18 of his 27 points in the first half and the host Hoosiers (168, 67 Big Ten) snapped a fourgame losing streak.

Luka Garza scored 38 points for the Hawkeyes (178, 86).

No. 1 S. Carolina maintains its focus

Freshmen Aliyah Boston and Zia Cooke had 13 points apiece and topranked South Carolina, coming off a victory over No. 5 UConn, extended its winning streak to 18 games by defeating visiting Auburn 7953.

The Gamecocks (241, 110 SEC) overcame a sluggish start — they trailed 2219 early in the second quarter — with a 204 burst that resulted in a 4223 halftime lead.

“It wasn’t really crisp, but we did the best we could,“Cooke said. “We had a long week. But we got the job done and that’s really all that matters.“

Robyn Benton scored 15 points for the Tigers (814, 29). #9 Louisville 66, #4 N.C. State 59: Jazmine Jones scored 19 points and Kylee Shook had 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks to lead the Cardinals (223, 112 ACC) past the host Wolfpack (222, 112).

Kayla Jones had 17 points for N.C. State. #10 Maryland 93, #17 Iowa 59: Kaila Charles scored 21 points to lead the host Terrapins (214, 122 Big Ten).

Monika Czinano had 15 points to lead the Hawkeyes (205, 113).
