Predators top Blues, continue their climb

Kyle Turris scored with 2:12 left, and the Predators beat the Blues 21 in Nashville on Sunday to sweep the fourgame season series from the defending Stanley Cup champions.

Nashville, which has its first threegame winning streak since October, has won seven of 10 to climb a point out of the Western Conference’s two wildcard spots.

“You look where we’re at, I think these last three games have given us confidence and see the light now,” Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne said. “It helps us for sure.”

Craig Smith also scored for Nashville, his sixth in five games. He said it was unacceptab­le that it had been so long for Nashville to win three straight.

“It’s something to build off of,” Smith said.

Devils 4, Blue Jackets 3: Mackenzie Blackwood made a career-high 52 saves and stopped six of seven attempts in the shootout for host New Jersey. Columbus has lost five in a row.

Bruins 3, Rangers 1: Jaroslav Halak made 25 saves as visiting Boston picked up its ninth win in 10 games.

Oilers 4, Hurricanes 3: Josh Archibald scored his second goal of the game 3:57 into overtime and Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists for visiting Edmonton.

Ducks 5, Canucks 1: Adam Henrique scored twice and John Gibson made 37 saves for visiting Anaheim.

Senators 4, Stars 3: Artem Anisimov scored at 3:48 of overtime for host Ottawa.

Sabres 5, Maple Leafs 2: Jack Eichel scored the goahead goal as part of a threegoal surge in a 91-second third-period span for host Buffalo.

Jets 3, Blackhawks 2: Nathan Beaulieu snapped a tie early in the third period as host Winnipeg dealt Chicago its sixth loss in seven games.

Penguins 5, Red Wings 1: Patric Hornqvist had two goals and an assist as host Pittsburgh beat Detroit, which has lost four in a row.

Reschedule­d: The St. LouisAnahe­im game, postponed Tuesday after Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeeste­r suffered a cardiac event in the first period, will be played March 11. The game will begin with a 1-1 score, as it was at the time of the postponeme­nt. It will follow a full 60-minute format.

Trades: The Islanders acquired defenseman Andy Greene from New Jersey for defenseman David Quennevill­e and a 2021 second-round pick. Greene had been the Devils’ captain . ... New Jersey also traded forward Blake Coleman, who has 21 goals, to Tampa Bay for junior hockey prospect Nolan Foote and a first-round pick this year.
