Cardinals to play on Field of Dreams

-

The St. Louis Cardinals have replaced the New York Yankees as the opponent for the Chicago

White Sox in the Field of Dreams game Aug. 13 at Dyersville, Iowa.

The schedule change caused by the new coronavirus pandemic meant the White Sox no longer play the Yankees this season.

NFL: The Green Bay Packers said they have signed Utah State quarterback Jordan Love and Boston College running back A.J. Dillon, their top two draft picks.

College football: Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley will remain on staff but will take a pay cut and must undergo diversity training after being suspended for using a racial slur in a 2013 text message.

Utah said Scalley will participate in diversity and inclusion education and have his salary cut from $1.1 million to $525,000.

Soccer: With Leicester and Chelsea both losing, the race for European spots is heating up in the English Premier League.

Leicester once looked certain of returning to the Champions League, but is now winless in four games after a 21 loss to Everton. Only Chelsea’s 32 loss at West Ham kept Leicester in third place by one point.

Manchester United and Wolverhampton are only two points behind Chelsea with six games remaining. The top four teams qualify for the Champions League; EPL champion Liverpool and secondplace Manchester City have clinched spots.

In the NWSL’s Challenge Cup, Portland and Chicago played to a scoreless draw and North Carolina defeated Washington 20 in Herriman, Utah.
