Another MLS team, Nashville, drops out

Nashville SC has withdrawn from Major League Soccer’s MLS is Back tournament at the Disney complex near Orlando after nine players tested positive for the coronavirus. The expansion team is the second team to withdraw from the tournament.

FC Dallas had to pull out after 10 players and a coach tested positive for the coronavirus.

The group stage of the World Cupstyle tournament continued with Alejandro Bedoya scoring in the 63rd minute to lift Philadelphia past NYCFC 10 and Gustavo Bou’s 56thminute goal giving New England a 10 victory over Montreal.

The Earthquakes begin play at 6 p.m. PDT Friday against Seattle (ESPN, 1050).

Motor sports: Austin Cindric, 21, won the first of two NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Kentucky Speedway, charging past Chase Briscoe on an overtime restart for his first victory of the season and first on an oval.
