With Bell out, 49ers could see lots of Gore

-

The New York Jets reportedly will place running back Le’Veon Bell on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Bell was hurt in the second quarter of the Jets’ 2717 loss at Buffalo on Sunday.

NFL Network first reported that Bell would be placed on IR, and the move was confirmed by the Associated Press.

He would miss at least the next three games, meaning 37yearold Frank Gore is the team’s only healthy running back on the active roster as it prepares to host Gore’s former longtime team, the 49ers, on Sunday.

Josh Adams is likely to be elevated from the practice squad. Rookie fourthrounder La’Mical Perine has been sidelined the past few weeks with an ankle injury, and it’s uncertain if he’ll be healthy enough to play against San Francisco.
