Right time to serve
Regarding “Politicized process” ( Letters, Nov. 4): On the subject of lifetime tenure for Supreme Court judges, the author has the right complaint, but his alleged concern of fourto eightyear terms instead misses the mark and would cause judges, like all politicians, to run for office the whole time they were sitting. That destroys the benefits and entire point. Many advanced states have judges serve terms of 15 or 17 years to make it off the election cycle to begin with, and get fine results, along with the ability to change, which we desperately need in our everrapidly evolving nation.
