Honor with repayment

I see the Golden State Warriors are rolling out new jerseys to “honor” Oakland. Wouldn’t a much greater show of respect be to repay the $ 40 million the lower courts have ruled they owe the beloved cashstrapped city where they played for nearly 50 years, instead of appealing to the state Supreme Court? Guess their enlightened ownership isn’t quite as woke as it claims.
