Flannery released from hospital

Former Giants thirdbase coach Tim Flannery, who has dealt with a dangerous and persistent staph infection since midOctober, said in an Instagram post Wednesday night that he has been discharged from his second hospital stay.

“My beautiful family came from The 4 directions tonight to bring their love and thanksgivi­ng and break me out of the hospital take me home and had a hospital bed waiting for me,” Flannery said under a photo that showed him lying on the bed and mugging for the camera with several family members.

Flannery, 63, spent nearly three weeks at a hospital near San Diego before he was discharged Nov. 6, saying he had multiple surgeries and his life was in danger. A socialmedi­a post from his antibullyi­ng organizati­on, the Love Harder Project, said he was not out of the woods. He returned to the hospital last week.

Baseball: Tampa Bay outfielder Randy Arozarena was released by Mexican authoritie­s after his former partner told a judge in Yucatan state that she did not want to press charges.

Arozarena had been arrested Tuesday for a situation involving custody of his daughter, just two weeks after he won the Babe Ruth award for the Most Valuable Player in the postseason.

Basketball: Former Warriors forward/guard Marco Belinelli is going back to his native Italy, signing a threeyear contract to play for Virtus Bologna.

Belinelli, 34, spent 13 seasons in the NBA, playing for nine teams, most recently with San Antonio. He spent his first two seasons with Golden State, which selected him with the 18th pick of the 2007 draft.
