Noreen Elizabeth Murphy, 57, of Sonoma, passed away on December 26, 2020 after showing her strength, determination and ever present character and beautiful heart, as she always did. Noreen was loved and held when she passed away. Her strength was astounding and at the same time remained as sweet and generous as she always was. She will remain loved and admired for her strength, courage, and heart as she rests in peace.

Noreen is survived by her mother Betty, sister Sheila, brother Neil ( Christy), sister Eileen ( Wayne), niece Cassandra, nephews Patrick and Matthew ( Godson), and her Aunts, Uncles, cousins and beloved friend Bill. Noreen was preceded by her father Cornelius.

Noreen was born in San Francisco, California in 1963 to Cornelius and Betty Murphy. She graduated from Mercy High School in San Francisco in 1982.

Noreen had several professional interests throughout her life. She attended Cosmetology School in San Mateo where she received her license, practiced Dental Assisting in Daly City, and served as a Communications Dispatcher for 12.5 years for the City and County of San Francisco. She received accommodations for her excellent and professional service in dealing with the public.

Noreen will be remembered as a loving, generous and fighting soul. Noreen’s sense of humor was remarkable and enjoyed by all she touched. If you were a friend of Noreen’s you were always her friend. In retirement Noreen enjoyed watching sports, attending Giants games, swimming in her pool, painting, online yoga, adaptive PE classes at SRJC, attending Church, and traveling around the county in her van stopping for her favorite DB drinks on the way home. She was active in the local MS Society in Sonoma County and gave generously to causes and programs she felt were in need of support.

Noreen was truly a special and feisty woman that touched many hearts and will be missed by all who came to know her.

Services will be held for Noreen at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA in a private family service the week of January 11, 2021.
