Robert Alan Lint

January 4, 1952 - February 16, 2021

Robert (Bob) Lint was born in Washington, D.C. to Donald Lint and Hazel Beeman Lint. He lived in Maryland until the age of 12 when the family moved to Crete, Nebraska and always considered himself a Nebraskan. Bob attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where his love for the Cornhuskers football team was cemented. Before completing college, Bob joined the U.S. Navy and spent nine years in the service. He split his time in the Navy aboard submarines and as a teacher at the Nuclear Propulsion Plant. He was honorably discharged in 1981.

Bob met his wife Cathy Brandi-Lint in 1982; they were married in 1983. They spent their life together in San Francisco raising two wonderful boys. Bob worked as a control systems engineer at Bechtel and later Altran until he retired in 2014. Bob enjoyed San Francisco Giants Baseball, annual fly fishing trips to Jackson Hole, WY, travelling regularly to Lake Tahoe, CA, the Wine Country in Sonoma and Cornhuskers football. Bob’s love for the outdoors and wine could only be rivaled by his love for dogs. He could often be seen at the dog park and always had at least one golden retriever in his home. In July 2020, Bob became a grandfather to Shelby, the light of his life. Some of his favorite moments were his visits with her reclining on his chest or sitting on his lap and tugging his beard.

In August 2018, Bob was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). While he fought the disease he continued to show his love for his family, his dogs, the Cornhuskers, SF Giants, Lake Tahoe, and Jackson Hole. Bob is survived by his wife Cathy, son Scott (Stacey and granddaughter Shelby), son Dan, his dog Missy, mother Hazel, sisters Pat (Bob) Engel, Cheryl (Dan) Sweaney, and Donna McGovern, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
