⏩ College basketball: USC men thump Stanford; Cal women fall to OSU in Pac-12 tournament.

-

It wasn’t long ago that Stanford was riding high, with Oscar da Silva and Jaiden Delaire having combined for 33 points Feb. 18 in the Cardinal’s fourth victory in five games.

Since then, things have not gone well for the Cardinal.

ON Wednesday, with da Silva sidelined by a foot injury and Delaire and the rest of the Cardinal misfiring early and often, Stanford dropped its third in a row as it fell into a 19point halftime hole and couldn’t recover in a 7942 loss at USC in the Cardinal’s regularseason finale.

Stanford (1412, 1010) shot 25.4% from the floor and had no player score more than Spencer Jones’ and Brandon Angel’s nine points. The Cardinal also committed 16 turnovers against eight assists.

For USC (206, 154 Pac12), which shot 52.5% from the field, former Santa Clara guard Tahj Eaddy scored 16 points and Drew Peterson added 15. Oregon 82, UCLA 74: Chris Duarte had 23 points to lead four Ducks in double figures as host Oregon (18-5, 13-4 Pac-12) beat the Bruins (17-7, 13-5). Jules Bernard had 23 points for UCLA, whose regular season ends Saturday with a home game against USC. Oregon finishes its regular season Sunday at Oregon State.

Oregon State 75, Utah 70: Gianni Hunt scored 17 points to help the Beavers (14-11, 10-9 Pac-12) top the Utes (10-12, 7-11) in Salt Lake City. Timmy Allen had 23 points for Utah

#10 Villanova 72, #14 Creighton 64: Justin Moore scored 24 points as the host Wildcats (16-4, 11-3) beat the Bluejays (17-7, 13-6) to clinch the Big East regular-season title. Creighton played with head coach Greg McDermott on the bench after he apologized for urging his players to “stay on the plantation” in a postgame talk after a loss over the weekend. McDermott said on Creighton’s pregame radio show that he offered to resign but that his players “wanted me to coach.”

#11 Florida State 93, Boston College 64: MJ Walker scored 18 points and RaiQuan Gray added 16 as the Seminoles (15-4, 11-3) beat the Eagles (4-14, 2-10) for their 25th straight ACC home win.

#19 San Diego State 71, UNLV 62: Matt Mitchell scored 19 points as the visiting Aztecs (20-4, 14-3) beat the Rebels (11-13, 8-9) to clinch the Mountain West regular-season title.
