Richard R. Sisnerose
1947 - 2021
With great sadness we share that Richard R. Sisnerose passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021, after a short illness at the age of 73. He was born to Virginia and Abe Sisnerose of San Francisco, CA, on March 3, 1947. He graduated from Polytechnic High School, studied Math and Physics at U.C. Berkeley, later switching to Architecture. He became a prominent food service designer, starting his career at Flambert & Flambert of San Francisco, went on to Marshall Associates of Burlingame, and then CiniLittle International, where he became Vice President of their San Francisco office. In 2003, Richard formed his own company, Presidio Design Group, which he successfully ran until his retirement in 2017. He designed many of the food service operations at prominent high tech campuses.
He is survived by his loving wife, Heide Oppmann, formerly of Krefeld, Germany, and their only child, artist son Nikolas, born 1979. They were married for almost 47 years and led a rich and fulfilling life and traveled around the world. Besides devotion to his family, Richard was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed his passion for classical music and jazz, with regular visits to concerts and the Symphony.
He will be greatly missed and remembered by his friends and loved ones for his kindness, generosity, his quick and quirky sense of humor, and his deeply welcoming life force. He was also much appreciated for his great cooking skills which he exhibited almost daily and at the many parties and musical events staged at their home. He was a consummate and gracious host, and loved nothing more than bringing together their wide and diverse circle of friends for great food and live music.
A memorial gathering will be held in the spring.
