Bay Area sportscaster Kate Scott will make history when she serves as the playbyplay voice for the Warriors’ March 29 home game against the Bulls on the team’s flagship radio station, 95.7 The Game.

According to Golden State’s longtime playbyplay voice, Tim Roye, Scott will be the first woman to call a Warriors game on the team’s flagship radio station. She will work alongside Mary Murphy and Kerith Burke on the allfemale broadcast, which the team announced as part of its celebration of Women’s History Month.

Roye broke the news to Scott on 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast,” which Scott cohosts, on Thursday.

“You’re not going to be watching the Bulls and Warriors,” Roye told Scott. “Kate, we want you to be playbyplay.”

Murphy, a former coach who has worked as an analyst covering college basketball and the WNBA, will provide color commentary, while Burke, a reporter for NBC Sports Bay Area, will host the pre and postgame shows.

For Scott, it marks the latest milestone in a trailblazing career. She is the first woman to call an NFL game on the radio, the first to call football for the Pac12 Networks and the first to serve as the playbyplay announcer for an allfemale NHL broadcast in the U.S.

Scott, who has been a cohost on “The Morning Roast” since early October, spent five years (201520) with the Pac12 Networks. Previously, she worked for six years as the first fulltime female voice on KNBR radio.

A native of Clovis (Fresno County), Scott has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Cal.
