Christa A Resing Colardo

-

Christa Ann Resing Colardo passed peacefully and surrounded by family in her San Anselmo, CA home on the evening of Tuesday, April 27th, 2021 after a year long battle with cancer. She was 65 years old.

Christa was born on December 10th, 1955 in Fort Thomas, KY to her parents George and Jane Resing, and was the oldest of five children. Her siblings are George “Ged” Resing, Janie Raymond, Julie Pratt, and Adam Resing.

After getting her Bachelor’s degree from Sonoma State University, Christa spent many years working as a news and documentary producer. During her time at KPIX-TV she met her husband Paul while they worked together on Evening Magazine. The two of them went on to stay married for 40 years. They believed the ability to make eachother laugh was their secret to a loving and successful marriage.

Her three children, Mia, Dominic, and Angela, were all adopted at birth in ‘89, ‘92, and ‘96 respectively. Christa and her family were blessed to be able to spend quality time together on many family vacations to their favorite locations: Maui, Lake Tahoe, and Stinson Beach.

Eventually, Christa chose to change careers and went to culinary school. She had always been a good cook but was now a great chef. Christa also discovered a new passion when she started teaching ESL to some of her employees before their shifts. She enjoyed this so much that she became a volunteer ESL teacher with the Canal Alliance in San Rafael. It was clear that her students loved her.

Christa was tenacious, kind, intelligent, genuine, hard working, accepting, generous, forgiving, and inspiring. While it was impossible to overlook those traits, even less likely to go unnoticed was Christa’s innate ability to help you see the good in yourself. Not only will Christa be survived by her Mother and siblings, her husband Paul, and her children Mia, Dominic, and Angela, but her memory will live on in the hearts of the countless people who felt the benefit of having her in their lives.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 7th at 11AM at Valley Memorial Park in Novato, CA (650 Bugeia Ln, Novato, CA 94945). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Christa’s name to the Canal Alliance in San Rafael, CA (91 Larkspur St San Rafael, CA 94901). Christa’s family would like to thank Hospice by the Bay for their help in keeping Christa and her family comfortable and supported.
