Wild’s late goals deal tough loss to Vegas

Jonas Brodin scored with 1:06 left, 26 seconds after Kirill Kaprizov had tied the game, and Minnesota beat visiting Vegas 65 in a matchup of two of the West’s top three teams Monday night.

Nick Bonino added two goals and an assist. Joel Eriksson Ek and Kevin Fiala also scored for Minnesota, which trailed by two goals twice in the game. Cam Talbot stopped 27 shots for the Wild, who have beaten Westleadin­g Vegas five times in seven matchups this season.

“We’re a tight group,” Talbot said. “We can feel it. It doesn’t matter if we’re down one goal, two goals going into the third, we’re still a confident group.”

Vegas was 2410 when leading after two periods.

“That’s about as tough as they get, that kind of loss,” Vegas head coach Peter DeBoer said. “It doesn’t happen very often.”

Flyers 7, Penguins 2: Claude Giroux had two goals and an assist for host Philadelph­ia against first-place Pittsburgh.

Predators 4, Blue Jackets 3: Roman Josi scored his second goal of the game 3:24 into overtime and Nashville tightened its hold on a playoff spot with the road win.

Hurricanes 5, Blackhawks 2: Sebastian Aho scored twice in the second period on the way to a hat trick, helping Carolina roll at home.

Senators 2, Jets 1: Nikita Zaitsev scored with 1:13 left in the third period to lift host Ottawa to its sixth win in eight games.

Canadiens 3, Maple Leafs 2: Cole Caufield scored at 4:43 of overtime and Montreal beat visiting Toronto.

Panthers 5, Stars 4: Aleksander Barkov scored 2:50 into overtime to lift host Florida.
