A solution for the A’s

Regarding “How A’s ballpark plan would affect Oakland” (May 2): Our family loves Oakland sports and the A’s. We have a small boat and would love a waterfront ballpark. I have the solution to environmental justice concerns that are the bane of the waterfront ballpark, specifically Schnitzer Steel’s valuable operation. My old smog spewing Cadillac ended up there. A’s President Dave Kaval and Mayor Libby Schaaf should arrange for Schnitzer to relocate to the center of Piedmont. Then, Mr. Kaval can build his gondola to transfer the recycled metals down to the waterfront, doubling up the gondola for fans downtown, as already planned. No toxic dust in West Oakland!
