Nohitter for Reds’ Miley over Indians

-

Working at a quick pace, Wade Miley made easy work of the Cleveland Indians’ lineup on Friday. Miley took a perfect game into the sixth inning.

He continued for a nohitter as the Reds scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning for a 30 win at Cleveland’s Progressive Field.

Miley got René Rivera to fly out to begin the bottom of the ninth. Then Cesar Hernandez took a called third strike before Jordan Luplow grounded out to shortstop Kyle Farmer. After the throw to first base, the lefty Miley celebrated the 17th nohitter in franchise history and the first since Homer Bailey nohit the Giants on July 2, 2013.
