Italy pushes unbeaten streak to 30
Matteo Pessina scored the only goal and Italy extended its unbeaten streak to a recordtying 30 matches with a 10 victory over Wales on Sunday at the European Championship in Rome.
Pessina redirected a free kick from Marco Verratti into the net late in the first half.
Wales defender Ethan Ampadu was sent off with a questionable straight red card for stepping on Federico Bernardeschi’s ankle 10 minutes into the second half.
Italy, which won its opening two matches 30, finished Group A with a perfect nine points. Wales was second with four points and qualified for the last 16 at only its second European Championship.
The Azzurri first won 30 straight under coaching great Vittorio Pozzo from 193539.
Switzerland 3, Turkey 1:
Xherdan Shaqiri scored two goals to lead Switzerland past Turkey in Baku, Azerbaijan, and a likely place in the round of 16.
Irfan Can Kahveci scored for Turkey, the only goal the team managed at Euro 2020.

Chile admits violation:
Chile’s soccer federation admitted that members of its Copa America squad had violated the tournament’s coronavirus protocols.
In a statement, the federation said it “recognizes the violation of the health bubble ... with the unauthorized entry of a barber who, despite his negative PCR test, should not have made contact with the players.”
