Unjamming a Garbage Disposal

If your garbage disposal is making a humming sound but isn’t moving, it’s probably jammed. To unjam it, insert an Allen wrench into the center slot at the bottom of the disposal. Turn it a couple of times in each direction—this will manually move the grinder mechanism and should remove whatever is jamming it.
