Kathryn Jean San Filippo, a credit union account specialist and former manager of Michael’s Jewelers, was a life-long resident of Belmont CA, passed away on July 7, 2021 at the age of 33.

Kathryn is survived by her parents (Joyce and Michael), her grandmothe­r (Kay), her aunts (Janis), (Mary Ann), her uncle (Jim), her brother (Andrew), her sister (Mackenzie), her son (Jace), and her son’s father (Carlos).

Kathryn was born in Redwood City on April 21, 1988 to Michael and Joyce San Filippo. As a teenager, Katie, was always involved with school sports and enjoyed being a key player for her basketball team at Ralston Middle school. Her passion for sports and attending major sporting events continued throughout her adult life. Katie was highly artistic and loved to create using various mediums such as fabrics and jewelry. She graduated from Folsom Lake College in 2010 with a degree in Fashion Design. On December 27, 2016, she welcomed the birth of her son, Jace, whom she considered the most important part of her life.

Kathryn was a devoted mother, an avid sports fan and participan­t of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and camping. Katie, as she was affectiona­tely known by family and friends was kind and generous, almost never giving a second thought about offering support to anyone in need of help. A care-free and giving soul was the essence of her being, an angel for each and every one of us whose lives have been forever touched as a result of knowing this special young woman. Until we meet again, you will remain forever in our loving memories.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11am on July 24th at the Church of The Immaculate Heart of Mary in Belmont. Celebratio­n of Life to follow at 12:30pm at the Elks Lodge in San Mateo.
