The Warriors are signing freeagent forward Otto Porter Jr. to a minimum contract, a league source confirmed with The Chronicle.

Porter, 28, reportedly fielded offers at the midlevel exception, only to take less money and sign with Golden State. He is fresh off a fouryear maximum contract that he signed with the Wizards. Midway through that deal, he was dealt to the Bulls, and he finished last season with Orlando.

Porter has struggled through health issues the past two years, which hurt his market value in free agency. After playing in only 14 games in 201920, he appeared in 28 this past season.

One of the league’s best shooters, he is a career 40.2% shooter from 3point range.

A solid rebounder and defender for his position, Porter offers the Warriors an established player with plenty of playoff experience. Though he figures to come off the bench, he could be the power forward in Golden State’s closing lineup that features Draymond Green at center.

With Porter signing a minimum deal, the Warriors still have their $5.9 million taxpayer midlevel exception available.
