Warriors’ Curry to serve as analyst for Ryder Cup

-

Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who has played two events on the PGA Tour’s lower level Korn Ferry Tour, will be among the analysts for NBC’s and the Golf Channel’s coverage of the Ryder Cup in Wisconsin this week.

Curry’s work as an analyst is part of a partnership between Comcast NBCUniversal and Curry’s Unanimous Media.

“While Stephen is a worldclass athlete, his brand and mission transcends the basketball court,” Jimmy Horowitz, vice chairman of NBCUniversal Business Affairs and Operations, said in a release. “We aspire to work with creators who want their impact to reach broadly across our content ecosystem, which makes our partnership with ... Unanimous Media an ideal fit.”

⏩ Patrick Cantlay, who won the FedEx Cup on Sept. 5, won the Jack Nicklaus Award as the PGA Tour’s Player of the Year.

“The fact that it’s voted on by my fellow PGA Tour players, I think that means a lot to me,” Cantlay said. “It wasn’t something that I necessarily thought was on the radar middle of the year, but then I closed really well and played a lot of really nice golf toward the end.”

It presumably was a tight race over Jon Rahm, the No. 1 player in the world who won the PGA Tour money title and the Vardon Trophy for the lowest scoring average. The PGA Tour, however, does not reveal the

final vote or even how many players voted.
