Story line: Coming off a 42-28 victory at USC, a game in which the Cardinal led 42-13 midway through the fourth quarter, Stanford plays its seventh consecutive game away from home dating to last season. Under new head coach Clark Lea, the Commodores ended an 11-game skid that dated to 2019 when Joseph Bulovas kicked a 38-yard field goal with 19 seconds left for a 24-21 win at Colorado State last Saturday. This is the first meeting between Stanford and Vanderbilt.
