Charles J. Shaffer

January 7, 1929 - September 4, 2021

Shaffer, Charles J., Age 92, of San Francisco, died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 4, 2021, after a long illness. Chuck was a Philadelphia native who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers Law School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel, and pursued a career in commercial real estate, working for F.W. Woolworth, Montgomery Ward, the Dayton Hudson Corporation, Urban Center Developments and TRI. After raising his family, Chuck relocated from Minneapolis to the Bay Area. Chuck is survived by Craig, his partner of 30 years; his grown children from a previous marriage:

Ellen, Carl, Susan and Eric; and six grandchildren: Monica, Garrett, Samantha, MJ, Tobias and Graham. Per his wishes, there will be no services.
