One man died and two people were injured at a Phish concert Sunday at Chase Center, officials with the venue confirmed.

Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, San Francisco police officers found an adult male who was suffering from injuries caused by a possible fall, a spokesperson for the department confirmed. Though medics arrived, the man died from his injuries. No foul play was suspected.

Later that evening, at 9:45 p.m., officers were alerted to another incident and found an adult male suffering from injuries caused by a fall. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He fell on anothJuliet er man, who was injured and also transported to the hospital, the department said.

Though more details around how — or why — the injuries occurred were not immediately available, multiple accounts of concertgoers posted to social media pages suggested the individuals fell from a part of the arena’s upper levels.

Golden State Warriors and Chase Center spokesperson Kimberly Veale said the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the death.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the guest’s loved ones,” Veale wrote in a statement. “We are working with the local authorities to determine exactly what happened.”

Biton, who came from Petaluma to attend Sunday’s concert, said she started to see some commotion as the jam band played “Destiny Unbound” — more than a dozen people had their phone flashlights on and were moving frantically around the section.

Within two minutes, she said, Chase Center personnel had cleared out the section where one

person had fallen and placed a black tarp over the seats. Medics also began lifesaving measures, she said.

“I began feeling overwhelmed and left my section to gain access to Chase Center’s sensory room,” Biton said, referring to a room available for Chase guests seeking a quiet area. “As I was walking around the concourse I saw several people seemingly inconsolable, walking out of the venue.”

In a post on Twitter, Bobby Moen wrote that he was in one of the top rows behind one of the men who fell, and saw the second person fall shortly after in another section of the arena.

“We are shaken up, heading home early,” Moen tweeted.

As of Monday afternoon, the band had not made any official statements on its social media pages. Sunday’s concert was the ensemble’s second night at Chase Center.
