Carol Ann Holley (nee Moore) passed away December 20, 2021, in San Francisco after a valiant battle with lung disease. Carol was born June 15, 1942 to Dr. Jesse and Evelyn (Slate) Moore in Redding, California. She was an only child who grew up playing the piano, a pastime she enjoyed throughout her life. In 1960, Carol moved to San Francisco, CA to attend Lone Mountain College for Women. It was there that she met her life-long friends, Carole Milani Burke O’Connor, Fonny Flanagan, Grace Chappell, and so many others. It was when Carol went to Italy to study abroad through Loyola that her passion for travel was ignited and her enduring friendships were made with the Ancient Romans. Carol enjoyed a long career in the travel business, where she met her beloved late husband, Frank Holley and eventual partner Holly Huebel. She traveled all over the world and was known by her clients for her extensive knowledge and detailed itineraries. San Francisco was always her home base, with a cat always sharing her home. She loved to cook gourmet meals and entertain friends and clients. One of her favorite activities was going to watch the San Francisco Ballet. Now reunited with her dear Frank, she will be deeply missed her partner in crime of over 60 years, Carole O’ Connor (Kevin) and her children whom Carol called her Godchildren, Catherine Agelson (Louie), Dan Burke (Deirdre), the late Graham Burke, Barry Burke (Amber), John Burke (Tiffany), Michael Burke, Candace Burke, and Meghan Burke, as well as by so many friends, her cousins, and Frank’s nephews.

A mass celebrating Carol’s life will be held Saturday, January 15th at noon at St. Ignatius Parish, 650 Parker Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94118. All are welcome to attend the mass in person. If you would like to view the mass via Live Stream, please use this link:
