Rookie Rhyne Howard scored 21 points, including five of Atlanta’s 13 3-pointers, and the host Dream held off the Los Angeles Sparks 77-75.

Howard made a 3-pointer in the corner with 3:07 left in the fourth quarter for a seven-point lead, but Atlanta did not score again. Los Angeles had two chances in the closing seconds, but Stanford alum Chiney Ogwumike missed a contested layup and sister Nneka Ogwumike, also a Cardinal alum, was off on a jumper at the buzzer. Nneka Ogwumike had 17 points and 15 rebounds for her 80th career double-double.

⏩ Dana Evans scored 15 points, Rebekah Gardner added 14 and the host Chicago Sky cruised past the New York Liberty 83-50. Han Xu, the tallest player in the WNBA at 6-foot-10, scored 10 points for New York.

College basketball: Khalil Shabazz announced that he’ll return to USF for a fourth and final season. A quick guard who spent his freshman season at Central Washington, Shabazz averaged 13.7 points for the Dons last season. He’s set to graduate with a degree in communicat­ions in the next few weeks.

College golf: Natasha Andrea Oon shot a 3-under-par 68 to win the NCAA Ann Arbor (Mich.) Regional individual title, and the fifth-ranked San Jose State women shot an even-par 284 to win the regional title and advance to the 2022 NCAA championsh­ips.

Soccer: Kevin De Bruyne scored four goals and Manchester City routed Wolverhamp­ton 5-2 as Premier League leader City maintained a three-point lead over Liverpool, which beat Leeds 3-0.

⏩ Inter Milan beat Juventus 4-2 in extra time to win the Italian Cup final in Rome. Ivan Perisic scored twice in extra time after Hakan Calhanoglu had converted a late penalty in regulation.
