Sylvia Marina Bramante, born May 29, 1950 in the Mission District of San Francisco, passed peacefully on September 18th. She was the daughter of Marina Macay (deceased) the 3rd sibling of 6 children (Rene Macay; Felipe Macay, deceased (Cathy); Magda (Holden), Vilma (Mike), & Alicia (deceased). She is survived by her loyal and faithful husband of 51 years, Rich Bramante, also San Francisco born and raised, her 2 children Nicole Carrow (son-in-law Ramsey Carrow) and Victor Bramante, along with 3 grandchildren (Austin Carrow, Elle Carrow & Sal Carrow) who will always know her as “Nonni”. Sylvia met her husband in her early 20’s and married in 1971, and after a couple years they moved to Marin where they raised their family in Terra Linda (San Rafael area). Sylvia and her husband successfully ran a cement contracting business, together, for close to 30 years. Sylvia was always a big fan of crafting, quilting, making her own various greeting cards, running/exercise, donating to charities every year, and especially being around her grandchildren who she just absolutely adored. She not only enjoyed watching sports such as tennis, basketball, and football, she also never missed an opportunity to watch her children and grandchildren play sports throughout the year. Sylvia and Rich spent some time being a foster family to several young children in the 80’s-early 90’s, Sylvia’s love of children (babies especially) and making a difference in their lives was a very unique quality about her. Her family and close friends will greatly miss her as she has passed and left a strong legacy with her family. Sylvia always wanted to donate her body for research and the UCSF Willed Body Program will be using her body for research per her wishes. In lieu of any flowers, Sylvia, always a charitable person, would be grateful for any donations to be made to Hospice by the Bay.
