A San Francisco man was arrested this week after Colma police found numerous California license plates, a loaded magazine and cannabis in a stolen car, according to authorities.

Officers responded to a vehicle with “suspicious license plates” around 3:57 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Hickey Boulevard in South San Francisco near El Camino Real and towed the vehicle, Colma police posted on their Facebook page.

A records check of the vehicle showed that it was stolen in Redwood City in September and, after the tow, police searched the vehicle, finding a loaded high-capacity magazine, empty magazines, ammunition, an unspecified number of license plates and cannabis, authorities added.

Police believe some of the license plates, which had been reported stolen, were taken during a residential burglary in Hillsborough.

A 27-year-old man who allegedly stole the vehicle was located and detained, police stated. He was found in possession of a loaded Glock 19 and cocaine.

The suspect was found to have two outstanding felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant for his arrest, authorities stated. He was booked into San Mateo County jail.
