Elvira Otis Nagle, born in Oakland on September 1, 1925 passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022. A longtime Bay Area resident with deep ties to San Francisco, Ms. Nagle is survived by her 3 children, 6 grandchild­ren, 8 great grandchild­ren and 3 great great grandchild­ren.

Elvira graduated from St. Joseph’s Presentati­on Academy, Chabot College and Cal State Long Beach. She was active in the California Real Estate industry for over 35 years and was a lifelong patron of the San Francisco Opera and Ballet. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, The Women’s Guild and participat­ed in many Ministries.

Her Great Grandfathe­r, James Otis was the 12th Mayor of San Francisco and in 1892, her Grandfathe­r, James Otis Jr., along with M. Hall McAllister founded the Otis McAllister Trading Company, one of San Francisco’s oldest and still thriving businesses. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Dublin on November 29th at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial gift to the George Mark Children’s House, Smile Train or charity of your choice.
