Regarding “Set a standard time” (Letters to the Editor, Nov. 14): Daylight Saving Time saves children’s lives.

Every day over 25 million children walk to and wait for school buses all over the U.S., according to the American School Bus Council. Countless more wait for city buses and all in the dark before time changes. It’s even darker later in our northern states.

There were over 100 people killed and 13,000 injuries in school bus-related crashes in 2019, according to the National Safety Council.

There are too many little crosses and markers on roadsides here where children have been hit by cars while waiting for the bus. How about a little compassion for our school children? Surely a little inconvenience is worth their lives.
