When: 6:45 p.m.

TV/Radio: FS1/860

Story line: Almost assuredly out of the race for the MWC’s West Division title, the Spartans still can enhance their bowl resume with wins in their final two regularly scheduled games. After playing their past five games in the temperate climes of California, the Spartans face the Aggies in Logan, where the temperature is expected to be in the 20s at kickoff. “It is different for us,” SJSU head coach Brent Brennan said. “But it’s like I told the players: ‘If you get drafted (by) Green Bay, are you not going to go?’ We’ve got to play, so let’s get ready to play.” Utah State has won the past nine meetings, including a 48-17 romp at CEFCU Stadium last year.

What to watch

• Thanks in good measure to Chevan Cordeiro having thrown only three interceptions this season, San Jose State leads the MWC in turnover margin at plus-10. Entering the weekend, the Spartans and Aggies were tied for second in the conference in interceptions collected with 11. Utah State safety Ike Larsen ranked second in the conference in interceptions with four. He made two picks — including one he returned 36 yards for a touchdown — in the Aggies’ 41-34 win at Hawaii last Saturday.

• The Spartans haven’t rushed for more than 83 yards in any of their past four games, but this could be a breakout night for Kairee Robinson (479 rushing yards, nine rushing TDs this season). Utah State ranks 11th in the MWC rushing yards allowed per game at 208.6.

• Quarterback Cooper Legas has started five of the Aggies’ past six games. Logan Bonner, who started the first four, is out for the season because of a foot injury. Legas put together his best game of 2022 at Hawaii as he completed 16 of 24 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.
