CHP probes Bay Bridge shooting
The California Highway Patrol is investigating a weekend shooting on the Bay Bridge.
Gunfire was reported around 10 p.m. Friday near Yerba Buena Island in the westbound direction of the bridge heading into San Francisco, shutting down two left lanes and snarling traffic for more than three hours.
One person reported being injured by flying shooting debris, CHP spokesperson Andrew Barclay said Saturday morning. He declined to comment on the condition of the person, the number of people involved, details of the shooter and victim, or the number of vehicles involved, citing an investigation. He confirmed there were no deaths.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the CHP tip line at (707) 917-4491.
