Arkansas freshman leads way in victory
Freshman guard Anthony Black scored 26 points Monday to lead No. 9 Arkansas past Louisville 80-54 in the first round of the Maui Invitational in Hawaii.
Ricky Council IV added 15 points and Makhel Mitchell 12 for the Razorbacks (4-0), who had no trouble stepping up in competition after opening the season with three easy wins at home.
Kamri Lands scored 13 points and El Ellis had 11 for the Cardinals (0-4).
#10 Creighton 76, #21 Texas Tech 65: Arthur Kaluma scored 18 points to lead all five Bluejays starters in double figures as Creighton (5-0) beat the Red Raiders (3-1) in the Maui Invitational.
Utah 68, Georgia Tech 64: In Fort Myers, Fla., Gabe Madsen scored 16 points to lead the Utes (4-1) to victory.
#25 Iowa 100, Omaha 64: Kris Murray scored 30 points for the host Hawkeyes (4-0).

Myah Selland scored 14 of her 25 points in a dominating fourth quarter to help the Jackrabbits (4-2) beat the Cardinals (4-2) in the Battle 4 Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
#11 Virginia Tech 82, Kentucky 74: Elizabeth Kitley scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Hokies (4-0), who downed the Wildcats (4-1) in Nassau, Bahamas.
#17 Utah 93, Alabama 86: In Nassau, Bahamas, Gianna Kneepkens scored 21 points, Alissa Pili added 18 points and Jenna Johnson had 17 for the Utes (5-0) in their victory over the Crimson Tide (2-2).
#19 Texas 82, Rutgers 44: Amina Muhammad had 14 points to lead four players Longhorns in double figures as Texas (2-3) prevailed in Paradise Island. #20 UCLA 66, Marquette 58:
Freshman Kiki Rice scored 18 points and Gina Conti added 16 to help the the Bruins (6-0) top the Golden Eagles (5-1) in overtime in Paradise Island. Gonzaga 73, #23 Tennessee 72: Yvonne Ejim scored 22 points, including two on the goahead basket with 12.4 seconds left, and the Bulldogs (5-1) survived three missed shots by the Volunteers (2-4) in Paradise Island.
Washington State 87, Troy 72:
Bella Murekatete had 22 points and 16 rebounds for the Cougars (4-1) in Laie, Hawaii.
