Whelmina Lopez

November 30, 1930 - November 16, 2022

Whelmina “Wing” Penaflor Lopez, age 91, was well known for her hospitality, loving personality, and unwavering support to anyone in need. Her charm and wit captivated those who graced her presence. She deeply cherished her family. Surrounded by her loved ones, Whelmina passed away peacefully on November 16, 2022.

Whelmina was born on November 30, 1930, to Asuncion and Jose Penaflor, Sr. in the Camarines Sur region of the Philippines. She earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the College of Oral Dental Surgery in 1954. She was married to her late husband, John V. Lopez for 60 years.

She had a long wonderful life, survived by her children: Antonio, Lolita, John Jr., David, George, Dyna, Simon, and the late Manuel and her grandchildren: Darryl, Raymond, Serena, Lil Serena, Christina, Allison, Melanie, Rosalie, Tisha, Desire, and the late Devin. Her great-grandchildren include Paul Jr., Allanah, Ayden, William, Eleanor, Abigail, and Oliver. She was the dear sister of 11 siblings.

Friends are welcome to celebrate her life at the Memorial Service on Saturday, November 26 from 2:008:00 pm, service begins at 4:00 pm. Funeral Service on Sunday, from 9:00-10:30 am at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. The burial will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 and Skyline Blvd., San Mateo.
